Obituary of George C Barnes
George C Barnes, 75, of Randolph, NJ, passed away suddenly on January 20, 2022. George was born to George T and Frances M Barnes on September 3, 1946. Growing up, George was skilled with his hands and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. After graduating from Parsippany High School in 1965, he joined the Coast Guard Reserves. He also began working at Artisan Electronics as a draftsman. Later, George became Vice President of Artisan Controls in Randolph until he retired in 2001. In 1985, George received an Associates in Applied Science degree from County College of Morris. George loved spending time gardening, especially growing beautiful roses and tomatoes. He had an extreme love of nature, and he loved feeding the birds, along with 'Bambi' and her friends. He enjoyed collecting clocks, coins, and geodes. He had a ‘passionate’ love affair with ice cream, lasagna, licorice, and any type of seafood. His dogs, Cassie and Lilly, were his constant companions and he 'adored' his screaming bird, Coco.
He is survived by his saintly wife, Georgina of nearly 50 years; daughters, Jennifer Brady and her husband, Christopher, and Suzanne Michalewsky and her husband, Scott; three grandchildren, Grant, Mia, and Alexandra; his brother, Gary and his wife, Carol, his sister Nancy Gaglio and her husband, Tony; and five loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ on Tuesday, January 25 from 5-7 PM. All are invited to attend. A private funeral service will be held January 26. People wishing to honor George can make donations to either St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
