Obituary of Jane M DeNicola
Jane M. DeNicola, 82, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 after a short but courageous battle with brain cancer.
Jane was born on January 5, 1939, in Floral Park, New York to Henry and Marion (Rolly) Richert. Jane was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, New York and was employed as Head Teller of Meadowbrook Bank in New Hyde Park, New York. On August 1, 1964, Jane wed John F. DeNicola. They had two children, John F. DeNicola II, of Randolph, New Jersey, and Jeanine M. (DeNicola) Fastov of Mendham, New Jersey.
Jane and John’s was a true love story. Her gentle smile caught his eye at a Catholic Youth Group and growing up two blocks from each other, it was not long before he asked for her hand in marriage. Married for 57 years, they enjoyed pure love and happiness spending all of their days together. Jane’s love was for her family, friends, neighbors, and home, and was devoted to everyone that knew her. Her love for her grandchildren was beyond words and she cherished every moment she had with them. She called them her babies and reveled in the fact that she only lived a few minutes away from them. Jane was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved to celebrate all holidays especially St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas with holiday music playing throughout the house. She was also an ardent fan of The Eagles, collecting all their albums and attending their concerts. When playing Eagles music, that further elevated Jane’s always beautiful face and infectious smile. While Jane loved to travel domestically and internationally, she loved spending time in her picture-perfect home of 48 years, that she designed with John.
Jane is survived by her husband John; her two children John II and Jeanine Fastov and her husband Igor; and her grandchildren, Adin, Nicholas and Alexa. She is also survived by her brother Paul Richert and wife Carol, her brother John Richert and wife Sue and her niece, Catharine (Richert) Jones. Jane is predeceased by her parents Henry and Marion Richert.
A Memorial Visitation at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com) will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 11am to 12:30pm followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30PM.
