Obituary of John C. Thomas

John C. Thomas, 79, of Rockaway Township, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville. He was born in Paterson, and resided in Ringwood, Port Richey, FL, Manchester, and Sparta.

John was a Biology teacher for 36 years for the Pompton Lakes Board of Education, also serving as a coach for fencing and cross country. In addition, John helped to develop curriculum, and edit biology textbooks. 

He was a blessing to all who met him, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 56 years; two children, Christopher (Kyrsten) of Rockaway and Joy (Nicholas) of Ringwood; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jaydan, Joseph, Liam, Viggo and Logan.  He is predeceased by his brother Richard.

A memorial visitation and brief service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph.  The family has requested that all guests please wear face masks inside the building.
