Obituary of Alan M Van Dien

Alan M. Van Dien, 81, of Rockaway, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Boonton Care Center, Boonton, NJ. He was born in Nutley and has been a longtime resident of Green Pond, NJ. Alan was a volunteer Fireman for the Green Pond Fire Department for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran steadfast and loyal to his family and friends. Alan was interested in watching many sports especially following the NY Jets. He enjoyed poker with his friends and trips to Atlantic City.  Alan’s warm wit and stoic outlook will be missed.  

He is survived by his three daughters, Toni Jurkiewicz, of Oak Ridge, Debbie and her husband Anthony Panzarella of Ogdensburg and Kim Van Dien-Perez of Green Pond; eleven grandchildren Tylor, Melissa, Rebecca, Amanda, Hannah, Anthony, Grace, Abby, Jacob, Emily and Oscar and a great-grandson Kayden. He is predeceased by his wife Jeanette in 1997.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, 4:00-7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home. Interment is private.
