Obituary of Margarette Chipko Adler
Margarette Chipko Adler peacefully passed from this life at home on Monday August 16, 2021 after a short illness. She was 94 years old. She was born in Rockaway, NJ and moved to Dover in 1946 when she married. She and her husband, Walter R. Adler were together for 69 years.
After graduating from Rockaway High School, Marge worked at Bell Telephone Co. in Dover as a switchboard operator from 1944 to 1958. In 1959 she began working at RCA Record Division in Rockaway. She held many positions including Senior Accounting Clerk when she retired after 28 years. She was also active with her Union Local IBEW
She then was hired by Allied Signal in Morristown where she retired again after six more years in 1993.
Marge was a devoted parishioner at Sacred Heart Church, Dover for the past 70 years where she was a member of the Rosary Society and Leisure Club. She served as Eucharistic Minister at Mass and also at Regency Grande Nursing Home for many years.
Marge loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures visiting countries around the world.
She will be remembered as a strong and compassionate woman who loved her family and worked tirelessly to help others.
Margarette was predeceased by her husband Walter R. Adler Sr. and her son Walter R Adler, Jr., her parents Andrew and Meri (Protus) Chipko and six siblings: Victoria Chipko, Mary Hubert, Helen Wach, Anna Wilson, Peter Chipko, and Kathleen Mc Carthy.
She leaves behind her son Mark Adler and wife Debbie, daughters Pamela Adler Ringel and husband Chris, and Margie Kelly and husband Mark. Seven grandchildren Michelle, Dustin, Jesse, Zac, Kyle, Kevin, and Elizabeth and five great grandchildren.
A viewing at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (tuttlefh.com) will be held on Thursday August 19th ,2021 from 3 – 7 PM. Friday August 20th, 2021 there will be a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church Dover. Entombment at Locust Hill Mausoleum, Dover.
