Obituary of Hayden David Anthony Crooks
On Saturday, August 7th, 2021, Hayden David Anthony Crooks, loving husband, son, brother and father of three children, passed away at the age of 66.
Hayden was born on June 3, 1955 in Bon Accord, Tobago to Zepherine Caroline Scipio and Gerald Crooks. Hayden attended and graduated from Harmon High School in Tobago. On December 10th, 1979 Hayden was recruited into the Trinidad & Tobago prison service where he served for 20 years. In 1995 Hayden migrated his family to the United States. Here, he worked for 20 years at St Clare’s Hospital as a security guard and later as a Plant Engineer. On June 18, 1995, Hayden married the love of his life Vanessa Cameron-Crooks. Together they raised two sons, Kevin and Keron, and a daughter, Aurelia.
Hayden had a deep love for news, politics, movies and sports. Each morning he would religiously log into his laptop, while sitting in his favorite chair, to connect with the news from Trinidad. Also every Super Bowl Sunday, Hayden and & his wife Vanessa, would watch the big game together. It became one of their favorite traditions.
Hayden’s jovial personality left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. His infectious laugh lit up an entire room. Hayden was a family man; he loved his family dearly as evident by his ever presence in all of his children’s major life events. He will be missed dearly.
Hayden is survived by his wife Vanessa and his 3 children, Kevin, Aurelia, and Keron. He is also survived by his mother Zepherine, his Aunt Barbs who helped raise him, his 3 brothers Nichel, Roderick and Ian, his 3 sisters Jean, Diana and Kay, his Aunt Beulah, his uncles Cecil, Prizgar, Llewellyn, Melbourne and Martin, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald.
A viewing will be held for Hayden on Friday August 20th, 2021 at the Tuttle Funeral Home located at 272 Highway 10 Randolph, NJ 07869 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at the Tuttle Funeral Home at 10 o’clock a.m. Flowers may be sent to Tuttle Funeral Home.
