Obituary of Dimitrios P. Gizas

Dimitrios P. Gizas was born on February 28, 1952 in a small village in Greece, Eletheriani. He emigrated to Dover, NJ with his family in 1966, where he succeeded in creating a fulfilling life for himself and for his family. Dimitrios will be remembered for his generosity, passion, and love of life, his family, friends, and a good party. He passed away peacefully at Hackensack Medical Center on October 19, 2015, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Panagiota Gizas; his two daughters, Roula Ruff and her husband Erwin and Maria Rose and her husband Constantine; his grandchildren, Paityn, Madelyn, Mikko and Dimitra. He is also survived by his brother, Chris Gizas, and his sister, Vasiliki Pittas, and many nieces and nephews. He will now be with his father and mother, Panagiotis and Spiridoula Gizas, his sister, Eleftheria Paxos, and many others he lost along the way. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5:00 to 9:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph (www.Tuttlefh.com). The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church in Randolph. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either The American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 (www.donatenow.heart.org) or St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 1447 Sussex Turnpike, Randolph, NJ 07869.
