Obituary of Glenn Gustave Holzmann
Glenn Holzmann, 67, loving husband and father, inspirational baseball coach, extraordinary math teacher, Disney enthusiast, devoted Yankees fan, and pickle connoisseur passed away on May 17, 2021 at the Osceola Regional Medical Center, Kissimmee, FL.
Glenn was born on October 12, 1953, in Lake Hiawatha, NJ. He would later move to Montville NJ, where he attended high school and played on the varsity baseball and football teams. Glenn graduated college and began working as an accountant. He would later find his true passion in teaching mathematics plus coaching baseball and football at Montville, Irvington and Randolph High school. In 1975, Glenn organized and created the second oldest consecutive running semi pro baseball team in the state of New Jersey. Glenn had over 1000 wins as a coach during his 25 years with the Shamrocks. He inspired and encouraged so many to pursue their dreams both on and off the field. Glenn was a beloved teacher and a favorite among all of his students. Finally, Glenn retired after 25 years of service and left Randolph High School, in 2016.
Glenn was a brilliant mind filled with a love of everything Disney, enthusiastic for his favorite teams; the Yankees and the NY Giants. After spending years devoting his life to teaching and coaching, Glenn and his wife moved to Florida to live near the most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World. Glenn’s dreams came true when he became a cast member for Disney in 2013. He treasured the ability to put smiles on the faces of those around him and he loved nothing more than spending time with all of his family at Disney. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, students, athletes, and all who knew him.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years Cathy Holzmann of Kissimmee, Fl. Son of the late Doris (Broschart) and Gustave W. Holzmann. Survived by his 6 children; sons Christopher Holzmann and wife Pamela; Brian Holzmann and wife Gina; Erik Holzmann (Children of Karen Bott). Stepsons; Brian McLane and wife Kim; Scott McLane and Kate; Kevin McLane. Five grandchildren; Brian, Jessica, Sean, and Kevin Holzmann and Ella McLane. Also, survived by his beloved brothers, Thomas Holzmann and wife Debbie, Robert Holzmann, and Gary Holzmann. Along with his Aunt Katherine Broschart of Tampa, FL, and extended families. Predeceased by Brother Richard Holzmann who passed in 2013.
Visitation is Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 1pm – 5pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service 10:00am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
