John M. Holmes, 91, of Randolph, passed away at home, Monday, October 12th, 2015. John was born in Jessup, PA and has been a resident of Randolph since 1958.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a radioman on the USS Bernadou Destroyer in the battle of the North Atlantic. He worked as an Operations Manager for M & M Mars and he retired after 43 years. He did consulting work for them after his retirement, he was a loyal employee and always had M & M's for all.
John always talked about war stories, loved to cook his soups, and found great satisfaction in fixing things. He enjoyed cruises with his wife, sightseeing of eagles, but above all his family was most important to him.
He is survived by his wife Florence, of 68 years; three children Patricia Feehan of Randolph, Kevin Holmes and his wife Sue of Newtown, PA, and Amy Abruzzi and her husband Bill of Nicholson, PA; four grandchildren Kevin, Michael and Christine Feehan and Jeremy Holmes; five step-grandchildren Jason, Diana, Erica Fowler, Brian and Scott Roland and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Geraldine Partyka, many nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law Janice Holmes. He is predeceased by his son John.

Funeral Mass Friday, October 16, 2015, 10:00 AM at Resurrection Parish, Randolph (973-895-4224). Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover.
