Obituary of Marjorie Elizabeth White

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marjorie E. White was born in Harlem, New York on November 17th 1932 to the late John and Margaret Gibson. She was suddenly called home to receive her wings on Tuesday February 16, 2021 at 88 years young.

Marjorie had four children when she met Stanford White who had one child. They joined their lives together to become a family. They were together for 50+ years until his death on February 23rd in 2013.

Through the course of her life, Marge or Nana, as she was affectionately called by many, worked for Mrs. Stebb as a Child Caregiver, at Caroline's Laundry as a Laundry Presser, at Artisans Electronics as an Electronics Technician and at Epstein as Stock Associate.

She was also proud to be a Worthy Counselor for the court of Calanthes.
Additionally, she volunteered in her free time at Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Missionary handing out clothes to the needy.
She loved doing that and had fun with the other volunteers.

Marge loved family!
She enjoyed helping people, playing bingo, playing cards, dancing, traveling and marching in the Court of Calanthes parades across the United States and Canada.

Marge also loved her friends who she met at McDonald's every morning. That was her crew.

Her husband Stanford White, her daughter Mary E. Jackson, siblings John Gibson, Cleo Peterson, Charles Gibson, Bernice Dortch and Beatrice Best predeceased her death.

She leaves behind her children John E Jackson (the late Janice), Walter Jackson (Elwillie), Vonseil Crews (the late Thomas) and Esther M Jeffers (the late James) and her grandchildren: John Jr Jackson, Erron Jackson (Robin), Stanford Jackson (Chandra), Darnell Jackson, Natasha V Jackson, Stacy White, Brian Branch, James J Jeffers (Lidia), Jesse J Jeffers (Kelly) and twenty plus great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, her sister, Doris Suit and her brother, Eugene Gibson as well as a host of nieces, nephews,  extended family and friends left to cherish her memory.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

The family will have Private services.

A celebration of Marjorie's life will follow at a later time.
