Lois Beth Klusick
Rockaway Borough
Lois Beth Klusick, born February 13, 1924, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Lois was born and raised in Rockaway, she graduated from Rockaway High School. During her life, she was an employee of Aircraft Radio Corporation, Boonton, NJ and Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ, where she retired from in 1979. She was an avid reader, golfer (a hole in one at royal Palm Beach Country Club, and a hole in one at Leisureville Golf Course) and bowler; member of the Rockaway Garden Club since 1988 and a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway.
After retirement, she and her husband John became "snow birds". They spent the last 35 years enjoying Florida's warm winters in Leisureville, Boynton Beach, FL, coming home during the month of December to spend the holidays with family and to feel a snowflake on her face. For many years, she and John were both participants in the Leisureville COPS program. She was an active participant in the First Presbyterian Church of Boynton Beach. She and John were very involved and worked tirelessly in the church's twice-yearly Rummage Sale.
She was deeply loved by her husband, her daughters, her family and her friends and she will be so very much missed. With her smile, forever lasting, she was so fond of saying about her life, "It was a great ride!"
She is survived by John, her loving husband of over 74 years; two daughters Linda of Hopatcong, NJ and Jennifer and her husband Jeffrey of Lorton, VA; two brothers Robert Carlyon and his wife Sandra of Boonton, NJ and William Carlyon and his wife Bruna of Towaco, NJ and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother Olive Sutton Carlyon and father Thomas J. Carlyon.
