Obituary of Joseph Garie

Joseph Garie, 92, of Blairstown, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Newton Medical Center. Joseph was born in Rockaway Township and resided there before becoming a resident of Blairstown in 1987. Once out of school he served in the United States Marine Corp then went on the work at Howmet Corporation, Dover for many years holding various positions retiring as Shift Supervisor.

Joseph was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, enjoyed gardening, caring for family pets, watching wildlife in his yard and most importantly spending time with family.

He is survived by two children Alan and his wife Deirdre of Rockaway Township and Brett of Blairstown. Joseph is also survived by four grandchildren Patrick, Tara Rose, Brian and Ryan, brother Henry of Dover and caregiver and friend Susan Reilly. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Chris, his son Randy, parents Louis and Elizabeth and siblings Betty, Louis, Peggy, Helen, John, Julia and Francis.

Visitation Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 2:00-5:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 12Noon also at the funeral home. Interment is private.
