Obituary of Edward William Broadback

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Edward W. Broadback of Dover, NJ, passed away at age 83 on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Ed was born on July 10, 1937, in Dover, NJ, to Edward B. and Jessie (Truscott) Broadback. He was a police officer for the Town of Dover Police Department until his retirement. "Fast Eddie" was an avid fisherman, hunter, and car collector. He was also a member of the Elks, NJSRA, PBA, NRA, and NJ Rifle and Pistol. As those who knew him can attest, he loved to tell stories. You might have heard it once—or three times—but it was always entertaining! Everybody knew Ed, be it from hunting, car shows, the force, or on the stool at Barry's or the Townsquare Dinner. He will be missed by all, for sure!

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine. He is survived by his stepdaughter Lynn Kilburn, her husband Will, their four children Kerri, Amanda, William, and Joshua; and his sister Dorothy E. (Broadback) O'Leary and her four daughters Sandy, Lynn, Cassie, and Kathleen “Kate”. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021, 9:30 AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Highway 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).
