Obituary of Spiridon Moraitis

Spyros Theodore Moraitis, age 88 passed away on December 30, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diana Moraitis of Randolph, NJ; three sons Peter and his wife Beth Moraitis of Weatherby Lake, MO; Dennis and his wife Patricia Moraitis of Pompton Plains, NJ; Andre and his wife Melissa Moraitis of Kalamazoo, MI; grand-daughter Jaime Moraitis of Pompton Plains; and many extended relatives in Greece. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Moraitis and Koula Moraitis; brothers John and Takis; and sisters Sia and Elpida.  He was born on the island of Lefkas, Greece and came to the United States in his twenties as a Merchant Marine. He married the love of his life Diana and raised his sons while building a successful ocean shipping consulting business. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle who loved his family, his church and his life. He will be missed by all. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 3-6pm at tuttle Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11am at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church in Randolph. Entombent to follow at Restland Memorial Park Mausoleum in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 14447 Sussex Tpk, Randolph, NJ 07869-1830
