Obituary of Catherine Kate Carol Lilienthal

Please share a memory of Catherine Kate to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Catherine Giandelia “Kate” Lilienthal left us peacefully on October 15.  A Christmas baby, she was born December 24, 1931 to Salvatore and Felica, and joined her big sister, Joanne.  Kate was known for her friendly, outgoing personality.  A cheerleader captain from middle school all the way to college, she was energetic and fun loving.  She married Edward in 1956 and from this union, they produced four children:  Edward Jr, Laura, Nan and Eric.  They in turn provided  grandchildren, Jessica,  Josh, James,  Brett, Nicholas, (Nikko), Joseph, Michael and a great grandson, Hunter. Kate also leaves her sons-in-law Howard and Joseph, and daughter- in- law, Torrie. Kate also leaves her sons-in-law Howard and Joseph, and daughter- in- law, Torrie.  Kate worked for Pepsico in Manhattan right out of college, and then became a full-time mom.  She eventually went back to work, selling real estate and managing hotels.  She ended her career working for the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.     Kate was an true artist; from painting, to sewing to glass art, she did it all!  In 1973, her love of arts and crafts prompted her to open her own little business, the Lily Pad, in Livingston.  Kate will be remembered by her robust personality; everyone has a story to tell about her!   Above all else, family was first and foremost for Kate.  She had a special bond with each and every one of her grandchildren.  Our family matriarch, Kate can never be forgotten.
