Obituary of Melissa Kershaw

Melissa Kershaw, 42 passed away on July 17, 2020, at home with her loving family by her side following a long illness. She was born in Danbury CT and moved to Rockaway NJ when she was 5 months old. She has lived in Rockaway ever since. 

She was a huge Red Socks fan, an avid Disney fan, and had a big love for gaming.  Her favorite time was spent with her family on vacation going to Maine, on cruises, and of course Disney World. Melissa’s passion was working in the medical profession. After graduating college, she worked at various surgery centers throughout NJ and then later at the Overlook Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center for 10 years.

 

She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Olga and Charles Lombardo and her paternal grandfather Paul Kershaw. She is survived by her loving parents Valerie and David Kershaw, her cherished sister, and brother-in-law, Heather and Abdallah Abualhuda, her adoring niece Leila, grandmother Bea Kershaw, many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and her beloved dog Chester who was always by her side. 

An Interment Service will be held at the Gate of Heaven, Garden Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ on Wed. July 22, 2020 at 1:00 PM for family and close friends. The service will be held outside and masks are required for all those attending. Social distancing will be followed according to current health restrictions.
