Whether it was chasing a moped in the streets of Rome , Horseback riding in Bonaire , Scuba diving in the Caymens Islands ,
Zip Lining in Antigua , or exploring the volcano's in Hawaii , we always had a story to tell ...and re-tell ...
We had the best adventures and so much fun.
We played golf all over the world , but his favorite was in Ireland where he met
" Rick O' Shea " and " Mothers Milk ", and loved to tell the story about not getting stuck in the " love grass " .
He introduced me to his wonderful world of tailgating , betting pools , love of fireworks , and competitive sports.
He was my best friend , my protector , my sounding board , my advisor , and my biggest fan.
He mastered strength with kindness and humor in all things.
I always said Brian was the luckiest guy all his life....you know , luck of the Irish and all...Things always went his way.
Well , as it turns out , I was the lucky one.

As you so beautifully said Melody; Brian lived big, loved big and will not be forgotten. I think my fondest memory is Brian at the shore; bar tending, taking stuff to the beach and cooking on the grill. My heart goes out to you and the family.

Words are not adequate at a time like this and while I didn’t know him as long as I would have liked to, his larger than life personality always showed through whenever we were together. You knew he loved his family and friends and Melody. Rest In Peace Brian. You are loved by many and will be missed. Deepest sympathy Donna H

So very sorry for your loss. I knew Brian back in the 80's. We worked together in Livingston at Toys R Us. He was a great manager and had a
lot of respect from his employees. I would have to say he was one of my favorite managers. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Brian’s family. I had the pleasure of getting to know him through his wonderful children, especially Brian who is a good friend to my son and who I coached soccer middle school through HS. Brian was always there to root for his son & team. May he rest eternally in peace.

His friends are more than fond of Brian
He’s always quick to complement them
And always as he leaves he leave them
Feeling proud just to know him
When Brian gives his love to others
There’s so much love living in their hearts
Oh yes we keep Brian in our hearts
As there’s no one like Brian
He’s talked about before he gets there
Though Brian can never understand it
And even in a crowded room
He made you feel you were the only one that mattered
When Brian left us the other day
There's so much sadness in our way
Please dear Lord help us find our way
Brian we will miss you so
We will think of you as we grow old
Please come to see us in our dreams
And retell us all about your hole-in-one and help us cook up some good-natured schemes
Anthony & l are so very lucky to have been able to share a beautiful evening with Melody & Brian on Sunday (June 28). We received this text from Brian the next morning:
“Thanks for company, last night it was nice having you guys. Breaks up the night with good conversation.”
Brian was my Scorpion soul mate. We were the Scorpion ”Ying” to Melody and Anthony’s Cancerian “Yang”. Many times Brian was in my corner supporting me when I needed it the most. I will miss how you called me sweetheart. Always so melodious. I love you Brian and will miss you.

I don't know where to begin. I met Brian back in 1984 and we became good friends immediately. We were brother-in-laws. We played softball, golf, went on vacations and just hung out. Now thinking of how much we did it would be impossible to put it all down here. One thing for sure is that he was one of the nicest people you would ever meet. If you dropped a ball or sliced a golf ball he would always make you laugh about it. Never got too serious. His sense of humor was always on his hip just waiting for the right moment. Like a mischievous kid.
I didn't see Brian for a few years and then one day from the corner of my eye I caught someone staring at me from a distance in the Costco in Wayne. After 30 seconds or so I turned and looked back and it was Brian. He came up and gave me a hugh bear hug. Once a friend always a friend. And he had many. That was the last time I saw him. Most of all he was a great Father to Erin, Brian and Kevin.
Godspeed Buddy! I'm glad we got to know each other. You will be missed!
Our sincere love, prayers and condolences to all.

Many great times with Brian, from getting together with our kids, partnering in our rotisserie baseball team The Sliders (pre internet stats when we had to research with magazines!), to dinners with Melody and my wife Kathy. We ALWAYS had a great time and plenty of laughs. I can say Brian was one of the most laid back, fun loving person i knew, but always put the concerns of his family first.
its so unfortunate his grand kids will never experience first hand how wonderful a grandfather they had, but i am sure his kids, Melody and the family, will carry on his legacy and they will know the Brian we all loved,

Brian was like a kid in a candy store at the Master‘s in Augusta. Seeing the course and players while carrying a cold one was heaven to him. Poor Brian had the “bad seat” in the crammed van but he made the best of it.
I hope he gets to play a few more holes in heaven, albeit without us.
I will remember Brian holding Mel at our wedding, teaching me about shelf/space planning at Toys R Us and the glimmer in his eyes when he talked about his children.
Our sincere love and condolences to all of you.
Big hugs,
Debbie and Peter Rood
