Obituary of Maximiliano Sanchez
Please share a memory of Maximiliano to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maximiliano Sanchez of Dover, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at St. Claire’s Hospital, Dover. He is better known as Machy and he was an exemplary person. He was a good son and brother, an amazing husband, father and grandfather. A beloved uncle, cousin, godfather and friend. His wife Maria; his two children Yolanda and Luis, his daughter-in-law Melissa, and his beloved four grandchildren Gabriella, Matthew, Joshua and Timothy survive him. He also had 10 siblings: Luisa Sanchez, Rosa Beatriz Sanchez, Domitila Garcia, Gloria Vargas, Expedito Sanchez, Enrique Sanchez, Benito Sanchez and Alberto Sanchez. Moises Sanchez and Virginia Sanchez pre-deceased him. Too many cousins, godchildren, nieces and nephews to mention them all.
Machy was very active in his church. He served in various capacities at Holy Rosary Church in Dover as he was a weekday mass altar server, Eucharistic Minister, and he was active for over 20 years in the Cursillo movement. He actively visited the sick in hospitals and nursing homes, and he was devoted to praying the rosary as well as novenas for those that died. He also worked with a group to prepare parents/godparents for the sacrament of baptism. He was always willing to transport parishioners to and from church so they could attend services, and he also made the weekly church bank deposit for Holy Rosary Church for many years.
Machy was a decent kind trustworthy man who was generous to a fault. He was good-natured and was not a man of many words, as he preferred to let his actions speak for him. He was mischievous, had a hearty laugh and a beautiful smile that was true and real, never pretentious, but always honest and humble. He made a difference by living a life of example with his quiet, humble and unassuming way.
He will be missed beyond words; we pray and trust that our beloved Machy, pop, and grandpa/abuelo will rest in peace with God and the angels in heaven, we love you!!
