Obituary of Lawrence Cheatham

Please share a memory of Lawrence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lawrence Cheatham, 81, of Dover, passed away on April 14, 2020. Lawrence was born in Montclair and as a child loved the Lord and has always loved the piano. He played for various churches, wrote music and preformed concerts throughout the area. He was always willing to go the extra mile for the Lord. He was the 11th child born to Encie Mae and Dorsey Cheatham. As a pastor, he could never do enough, which included picking up people to attend morning worship. Larry was predeceased by his son Darren; three sisters Cora B. Smith, Effie M. Cheatham and Sally Simmons as well as five brothers Henry C., Joel, Seth, Melvin and James A. He leaves to morn, a wife Vera; two sisters Margaret McCoy and Dorothy Elijah of East Orange and a brother Ashanti Hammadi of PA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He loved planting and making things grow, it was something he could do as long as the weather permitted. In his honor, I am asking all that can to please plant something in his honor and watch it grow over the summer. All arrangements private by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph.
