Obituary of Douglas A Ryan

Douglas G. Ryan passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020 after a brief illness. He was 83. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 34 years, Carol O’Keefe. He is also predeceased by his parents Giles and Ruby Ryan, brother Denny Ryan, and daughter Virginia Topchev. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Doug settled in Rockaway, NJ where he resided for the past 40 years. He retired as a chemical engineer from Exxon in 2007 after 48 plus years of employment. He has held numerous patents through Exxon. He was an avid and passionate golfer and travelled the world to play. He was a great lover of life and all of its offerings Doug was an adored father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his children: son and daughter-in-law Michael and Maria Ryan, son David Ryan, daughter and son-in-law JoAnne and Doug Maluchnik, son and daughter-in-law David and Susan O’Keefe, son-in-law Dimiter Topchev, and daughter and son-in-law Victoria and Wade Morgan. He is also survived by his beloved 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, countless good friends and extended family. A memorial service will be held at a future date and details will follow at that time.
