Obituary of Fran Greb

This past Saturday, August 22, 2015, a Woman on Valor passed away. Fran Greb was in hospice at home at the time of her death midst her family and dear friends. She was comforted by them and experienced no pain. It was a peaceful moment for her after a long struggle with GBM. Fran left behind her husband, Lee; daughters Alison and Rachel; son-in-law, David; grandchildren, Jared, Jeremy, Zach, Briel, Micaiah, and Danny; and many loving relatives and friends. All of whom supported and comforted Fran during her illness. Fran’s greatest love (after family and friends) was her life’s avocation as an Educator. Her career included graduation from Dwight Morrow High School, Boston University, Montclair State University, and an EdD from St. John’s University. Her teaching career began at the Glenfield School in Montclair in 1965. After several years at Montclair, the birth of two daughters, a Masters degree in Reading and a certification as an LDTC, she began her 25 year career at the MacKinnon School as the learning consultant. After receiving her EdD degree, she started a new career at Montclair State University as associate professor. While there, she was instrumental in starting a Professional Development School. The program partnered local elementary schools with students from MSU and included seminars for her students at the schools. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015, 10:00-11:00AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Mt. Freedom Hebrew Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, Fran would be most pleased in donations were to be made in her name to the Trinity Lutheran Church Faith Kitchen, 123 East Blackwell Street. Dover, NJ 07801.
