Eleanor H. (Chirip) Krieg Eleanor Krieg, of Wharton, passed away on Thursday, April 9, due to complications brought on by Covid-19. She was 86 years old. Eleanor enjoyed a long and happy life with her husband whom she loved very much. Eleanor was the daughter of Andrew Chirip and Meri (Stvartak) Chirip of Dover. She resided there until she married Joseph M. Krieg in 1955. Together they established a home in Morris Plains. Eleanor and her family were parishioners at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, where she was a member of the Rosary Alter Society, and St. Mary’s Church in Wharton. A homemaker and devoted wife and mother, Eleanor raised their three children in Morris Plains before moving to Wharton in 1993. They resided in Brentwood Gardens for the past 27 years. Eleanor graduated from Dover High School in 1951 where she played basketball. She maintained an interest in athletics and enjoyed following sports of all kinds on television, especially baseball, football, bowling, and golf. Her favorite teams were the Mets, Jets, and Giants. Eleanor loved to sing with her twin sister Dorothy and her brother Andrew and in their younger days. She also enjoyed ceramics, bowling and most of all, spending time with her loving family. She was a member of the Essex Drove #251 Chapter of the Does. Eleanor was predeceased by eight siblings including her twin sister, Dorothy (Chirip) Tironi. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Joseph M. Krieg, her sister, Theresa Kopp of Randolph, and her brother, Andrew Chirip and his wife, Loretta of Beach Haven. Also, daughters Cynthia Beliveau and her husband, Michel, of Newton; Donna Doyle and her partner Muriel Sigle of Ewing and son Joseph and his wife Virginia of Andover. Eleanor was dearly loved by her grandchildren Ryan Beliveau and his wife Nancy of Holmdel, Shawn Beliveau of Greeneville, South Carolina, and Meri Beliveau of Morristown, Alexis Sigle of Trenton, and Connor and Joseph Krieg of Andover. Michael Beliveau, of Holmdel, was Eleanor’s only great grandchild. Due to the current pandemic situation, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date, details to follow.
