On April 6, 2020, Stephan N. Van Horn of Randolph, NJ, loving husband and devoted father of two, passed away at age 52 at home, after a year-long battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Steve was born in 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK, where he spent most of his childhood. He also spent a few of his teenage years in St. Louis, MO and moved to Convent Station, NJ with his family in 1983. Steve graduated from Morristown High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from William Paterson University. After graduation, he kicked off his career in insurance with a job with Wausau Insurance Company, in West Orange, NJ. He then spent some time at Great American Insurance Company in Parsippany, NJ. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Kim, in 1995. Steve was Vice President of Risk Management at Coach USA in Paramus NJ, where he was employed for 19 years. Steve was named the 2011 Stagecoach Safety Gold Champion and the 2017 Stagecoach Innovation Silver Champion for his exceptional work. Steve will be remembered by his colleagues for his integrity, professionalism, and unparalleled work ethic. Steve truly enjoyed his work, but his greatest love and passion was for his family. His son and daughter were his pride and joy and he took immense pride in all of their achievements. Seeing them succeed brought him immeasurable joy. Steve was their biggest fan and was always there showing his unwavering support. Friends will remember Steve’s amazing gift of gab, love of a good party (bartender included), love of the NY Giants, and devotion to his family. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kim Van Horn; along with two children; Patrick and Madison Van Horn. Steve also leaves to mourn his mother Patricia Howard of Oklahoma City, OK; his father, Leland R. Van Horn, Sr. of Tulsa, OK and brothers; Leland R. Van Horn, Jr. of Murrieta, CA and Robert L. Van Horn of Norman, OK. Due to the pandemic restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
