Obituary of Joan T. Fastige

Joan Theresa Fastige, 91, of Montville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at The Chelsea at Montville. She brightened the day with her lovely smile and warm greeting. She was always interested in her family and the Chelsea residents and staff which, was endearing. Joan was notorious for her love of anything chocolate. Joan was a devoted wife to her husband Nelson for 55 years. She had unlimited energy for extensive holiday decorating and gifting to her family. For many years she enjoyed bingo, playing cards and trips to casinos. Joan and her sisters would sing at family gatherings especially “Sentimental Journey”. She was adventurous taking her first plane trip at 75 to Hawaii. Joan is survived by five children Karen S. Mariano of Randolph, Nelson M., of Point Pleasant, David M. of Sea Isle City, William A. of Atlantic City and Charles of Manahawkin; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; and one sister Marguerite Zilske of Hawthorne. She is predeceased by her husband Nelson in 2003 and her daughter Helene E. Bell in 2016. Visitation Monday, February 17, 2020 3:00-7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 10:00AM also at Tuttle.
