Obituary of Maria M. Sanchez Cordero

Maria Mercedes “Meche” Sanchez Cordero, age 78, of Dover, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on November 28, 2019.

Maria was born on September 22, 1941 in Cuenca, Ecuador. 

Maria was married to Juan Jose “Pepe” Sanchez. The couple immigrated to New Jersey in 1981 and settled in Dover, where they raised their six children; Jose, Linda, Maria Leonor, Javier, Maria Luisa and Jazmin.
 

Maria was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was an amazing cook, baker, avid gardner, and lover of all birds. She loved sharing a glass of wine with company and had a great sense of humor.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Maria was the beloved wife of Juan Jose Sanchez; sister of Marco Cordero; devoted mother of Jose Napoleon Sanchez, Linda Sanchez, Maria Leonor Sanchez, Javier Sanchez and his wife Douney, Maria Luisa Sanchez, and Jazmin Sanchez; loving “Abuelita” of Shirley Santiago (Edgar), Karen Ycaza, Sandy Grant (David), Jonathan Rodriguez, Jessica Brocato, Kathleen Sanchez, Jennifer Sanchez, Christian Rodriguez and Ivan Rodriguez; great-grandmother of Adrian Vazquez, Jonah Ycaza, Ethan Santiago and Madison Santiago. Maria is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Carmela.

Family and friends will gather at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 227 Highway 10, Randolph, NJ 07869, on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 for visitation from 5:00-9:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, Morristown, NJ.

Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.
