Catherine Sinclair Venezia, 62
Catherine Sinclair Venezia died at home on Saturday, August 1, 2015, after a long battle with breast cancer. She passed away surrounded by her three children and her devoted German Shepherd, Duke. Catherine was born on May 13, 1953 and raised in Manhattan, a fact in which she took great pride.
She graduated from Holy Cross Academy on 42nd Street before attending Weehawken High School and Bloomfield Junior College. In the 1980s, Catherine worked for Airwick Industries, where she met her beloved husband of 27 years, Louis Venezia. In 1987 she left Airwick to have children. She served as PTA vice-president and president at Mountview Road School, during her children’s time there. She has worked for CFS/Guardian Insurance and for her eldest son’s branding agency, Pilot. She was also a licensed realtor and referral agent for Weichert Realtors.
She is survived by: her son Louis Venezia (daughter-in-law Melissa Klein), her daughter Stephanie Venezia-Puttick (son-in-law Mark Puttick), her son Kevin Venezia; her father Vincent Petrocelli; her brother Richard Petrocelli (sister-in-law Kathi Petrocelli); sisters Sandy Petrocelli Cuozzo (brother-in-law Joseph Cuozzo) and Joan Petrocelli Doumas (brother-in-law George Doumas); brother-in-law Joseph Venezia and sister-in-law Carol Venezia, who assisted with her care throughout her illness; and many nieces and nephews whom Catherine loved dearly. Predeceased by her husband Louis Venezia (2011), and her mother Julia Petrocelli (2012).
Visitation will be 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West, Randolph (973) 366-7400. www.tuttlefh.com. A funeral will be held at 10 am, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, N.J. (973) 538-1358. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, 61 Whippany Road, Morristown, N.J.
