Obituary of Angelina Fernandes

Angelina "Lena" Fernandes, 96, a Rockaway resident, formerly of the Belleville/Newark area passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Angelina was a business owner for over 40 years, including Scandia Bar in Garwood for 16 years, My Place Bar in Newark and Orange for 4 years, and My Place Bar and Liquor store in Belleville for 23 years. Angelina was the beloved wife for 31 years to the late John Fernandes. Angelina was predeceased by her parents Anna and Alfonso Cuomo, sister Carmella Fernandes and husband Jack, brothers John Cuomo and wife Vera, Alfonso Cuomo and wife Doris, and Vincent, Ralph and Thomas Cuomo. Angelina was a dear sister-in-law to Dorothy Cuomo, cherished aunt and godmother to Susan Pangallo and husband Vincent , with whom she lived. Loved aunt to John Cuomo and wife Carol, Thomas Fernandes, Anna Giampino and husband Ray; adored great-aunt to Tory Fernandes and wife Melissa, Jim Pangallo and wife Danielle, Nick Giampino and wife Jen, Jacklyn Rosenbaum and husband Doug, and Denise Giampino; and great-great aunt to her sweethearts Isabella, Sarina, Joseph, and Arianne who were the loves and joy of her life; and many other loved nephews and nieces. Visitation Sunday, August 25, 2013, 2:00 - 6:00 pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 26, 2013, 10:00 am at St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Rockaway. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
