George Egerer Jr., 87, of Rockaway, passed away Monday, June 22nd, 2015 at CareOne at Hanover Township, Whippany. George was born in Kearny and has been a resident of Rockaway since 1952. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.
He worked as a Garment Cutter at Swiss Knitting Mills, Dover and then at Alfred Dunner, Dover where he retired from after over 46 years in the Textile Industry.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2519, Denville.
George is survived by his son Wayne and his wife Kathy of Hampton and daughter Deborah Mackintosh; six grandchildren Jamie, Kelly, Wayne Jr., Vicki, Amie, and Brian and five great-granddaughters; his longtime friend of the family Bob Mackintosh and his beloved dog Molly. Predeceased by his wife Gloria in 2009.
Visitation Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the V.F.W., Post 2519, 71 Ford Road, Denville, NJ 07834.
