Obituary of Victor F. Banko

Victor F. Banko, 81, of Rockaway Township, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville.

He was born in Newark and graduated from St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, in 1955. He then went on to graduate from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, in 1960 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Victor worked on the original space program. He spent many years working in the medical device industry where he held multiple patents for different devices.

Victor had a love for fishing, golfing, dancing, flying and writing. He was very involved with his kids’ activities as they were growing up and coached many different sports. He was also a member of the Rockaway Township planning board.

He is survived by his three sons Wayne of Rockaway, Victor of Newport Beach, CA and Jeffrey and his wife Kristin of Chesterfield, VA; five grandchildren Jennifer, Joseph, Christina, Jackson and Allison; sister Christine Napiorski and her husband Ray; and his companion of five years MaryAnn. He is predeceased by his wife Barbara in 2008.

Visitation Friday, December 28, 2018 6:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A second visitation Saturday, December 29, 2018, 10:00-11:30AM with a service at 11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment is private.
