Obituary of Rev. James Archie Parr

Rev. James A. “Archie” Parr 98 passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Bayside Manor Assisted Living, Keansburg.   

Archie was born in Chester and served as a student pastor in Perry Hall, MD, while attending seminary. After being ordained as a Clergyman he served as Pastor for Hampton, Glen Gardner, Norton and Roselle St. Paul’s, Scotch Plains, Hopatcong West Side, Parsippany, Wanaque Midvale and Dover Grace United Methodist Churches.  Archie retired from Grace United Methodist Church to Randolph where he lived for 28 years with his wife Dorothy.  One of his proudest moments included his work acquiring search dogs for the Hopatcong Borough Police Force for use in missing child searches.

He is survived by Dorothy his wife of 68 years, his three sons and their wives James (Joni) of Leonardo, William (Brenda) of Ledgewood and Thomas (Carol) of Saddle Brook, his brother Clarence of Milton, his six grandchildren Christy, James Jr., Jenny, Kate, Dawn, David and, also eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).

Funeral Service 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 also at the funeral home, Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
