I only just heard of Mark's passing yesterday. I cried and cried. He was a wonderful doctor who knew just what to do and say. There are not enough words to express my condolences for his family. When we had to change doctors when Mark left the Atrium, my family took it hard then to find a new physician. Mark will be truly missed!

I would like to send my sincere condolences to the Quadrel family. Doc was my neighbor, coach, friend, and primary care doctor and he was the absolute best. He always sat with you as long as you needed him and never rushed you out. He was brilliant, sincere, honest, and the most humble doctor I've ever encountered. I appreciated his awesome sense of humor and our conversations about sports, family, and life. I had the pleasure of knowing Mark not just as a patient but working with him at Dover General. He also treated my daughter. He was so good to his patients. He spent as much time as needed with them. He never made them feel rushed. He had a great sense of humor and was a great resource of knowledge and shared that with those he worked with. Doc was one of a kind. He truly worked hard too not only make you well but make you at ease. He was old school in actuality caring about people. It was so sad when his wife passed away and his needs were pullled to take care of her and his kids. It is truly so sad that his life was cut short in the way it was. Dr.Quadrel was one of a kind of physician! He always took the time to speak with his patients and their families.
He loved to teach the medical students, He would skip his lunch to give a lecture at the Medical School, skip dinner to volunteer his time in the evening and teach the medical students. His lunch was peanut butler and jelly, because to him was more important to care for his patients and to give his time to teach the medical students and others that needed his help. All the nurses loved “ Dr. Q”, as we all called him . When we paged him , his reply was STAT.
We all are mourning his loss. For many of us, life will never be the same . Our deepest and sincere condolences to the family.

Doc,
Visiting the doctor was never a dreaded task because I knew we'd sit and chat and laugh. You'd listen and tell me when I was being silly if needed, and tease me, and you'd check in and make sure everything was okay. You'd check in on the family, and tell me how things were with you. You were most likely the only Doctor my sassy great-grandmother liked - she even admitted to liking you & that was unheard of!! I hated leaving you as my Doc when I left NJ, but you would check in on me through others and it was always appreciated. I will always think of you fondly, and my heart is a bit broken over your passing for your family and all of the rest of us who were blessed to have you in their lives in some way. Enjoy your heavenly time with your Wanda and know you are missed and thought of down here. Thank you for being a terrific and selfless doctor and person. Mark Quadrel was a great doctor. He had a great sense of humor too. He saved my life. I causally mentioned trouble breathing when walking to my office. He immediately scheduled a stress test. I had 99% blockage. It is known as widows heart. I had a stent inserted and have been fine since. I will always remember his warm greeting as nod smiling face. RIP

My sincere sympathy to your family. I worked for many years with Mark. First in the emergency room here @ University Hospital and again when his smiling face returned. A friend more than a colleague, always with a smile. I will always remember the hug and well wishes we shared the day before...he was special. Peace.

I am so sorry to hear this sad, sad news. I worked with Dr. Quadrel as a resident, I have seen him as a patient and more recently we shared our patients at the University Hospital's floors. He was a gifted, compassionate and astute internist and he will be sorely missed by me and my residents. I wish his family and friends strength and wisdom to deal with this incredible loss.

Always on the sidelines of the MK games when my son played. I remember him most vividly always standing by the end zone - most of the time with his workboots untied. Doc you will be missed.

Dr. Quderal had so much compassion. I was saddened when he went back to teaching. I miss him as a Dr. He always truly listened to what you had to say. He laughed at your jokes, took time to reassure you, generally really cared about you as his patient. He was my daughters Dr., my Dad's and mine. He will be surely missed in the community and medical field. My heart goes out to his family for not only losing their mother but now their Dad as well. May Dr. Quderal be reunited with the love ones gone before and may God put special blessings on this family.

Dr Quadrel was a awesome doctor; I loved him very very much; he also took care of my dad when my dad was hospitalized at university hospital. I loved working besides him, he was so easy to get along with, I will always have fond memories of him.
