Obituary of Gary Evan Dean

Gary Evan Dean, 74, of Rockaway Township, NJ, passed away, at home, Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015, following a long illness. Gary was born in Wayne, NJ and formerly resided in Jefferson Township. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Peacetime. He worked as a Supervisor at United Parcel Service, Parsippany, NJ, and retired in 1995 after 31 years. Gary was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dover where he was very involved serving on the council, the Bell Choir and performing volunteer work. He was founder of the Dean Scholarship and the DiPietro Scholarship, both at the church. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Gary is survived by Sandra, his wife of 50 years; two daughters Terry Ziemba and her husband Rick of Milford, PA and Erin DeKorte of Rockaway, NJ; his son Brett and his wife Suzanne of Milford, PA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren David, Danielle, Heather, Jesse, Alexa, Michael, Madison, Gary, Micah, and Kyle; his great-grandson Derek; his sister Arlene Solimine and her husband Bob of Damascus, PA and his aunt Ruth Dean of North Haledon, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Audrey. Visitation Saturday, June 6, 2015, 2:00 - 6:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph ( www.tuttlefh.com ). Funeral Services will be Sunday, June 7, 2015, 4:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 E. Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ (973-366-2821). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 E. Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801.
