Obituary of Karen Barbara Hintz

Karen Barbara Hintz, 67, of Randolph, passed away Friday, August 9th, 2013, at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown. Karen was born in Beloit, WI and resided in Joliet, IL, before residing in Randolph.
She was a longtime member of the Mount Fern United Methodist Church, Randolph. She was a musician playing the string bass in various orchestras, including the Delbarton Abbey Orchestra and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and was also an adjunct faculty member at Delbarton. She was an avid quilter, she taught quilting and gave many quilts as gifts. But, mostly she was known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Patrick of 46 years; three children Christopher and his wife Kristi of Evergreen, CO, Sarah Karaces and her husband Chris of Randolph, and Matthew and his spouse Brian of Montclair; seven grandchildren David, Gabriel, Drew, Sam, Will, Zachary, and Grace. Also survived by one brother Geoffrey Wight and his wife Licia of Wellington, FL; along with her one niece and two nephews Francesca, Alexander, and Darin
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13th, 2013, from 3-5 PM & 7-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttelfh.com).
Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Fern United Methodist Church, Randolph, (973) 366-4418, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013. Interment to follow at Hackettstown Union Cemetery.
