Alfred Joseph Luthy, 72, of Morris County, went to Heaven on Aug. 2, 2013, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Al, as his friends and family would call him, was born in Orange, NJ on November 28, 1940 to Alfred and Agnes Luthy. Al was a proud graduate of St. Benedict’s Preparatory and St. Francis University where he lettered in track & field. He was equally as proud to be a brother of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity (TKE). Al is survived by his 5 children: Scott Luthy, Kim Luthy, Glenn Luthy, Carolyn Luthy Bolcar and Erik Luthy, as well as 6 beloved Grandchildren; who called him Papa. Also surviving, are his brother and sister, Kenneth Luthy and Mary Ellen Luthy. Al was proud to have spent his career in Publishing in the hotel and travel industry predominately in NYC. He traveled the world many times over. He was an avid archer and hunter, he was most happy in the woods. He was also a dedicated runner who ran the NYC Marathon 5 times. Al had a quick wit and sense of humor that few could rival; which will be greatly remembered and missed. Family and friends are welcome to visit at Tuttle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Resurrection Church on Wednesday at 10 am both are in Randolph. In lieu of flowers a tribute page has been set up for donations at www.alz.org under Al’s name.
