Obituary of Carol Ann Christie

Carol Ann Christie, 53, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at home. She was born in Newark. Although Carol endured a life long challenge with Muscular Dystrophy, she achieved all the endeavors she set out to do. After high school she was hired at Bell Labs as a secretary and put herself through college earning her undergraduate degree at the College of St. Elizabeth. Carol was promoted to a fiscal analyst where she worked for 20 years. In 2002, Carol went to work as a finance manager at the Morris View Long Term Healthcare Facility. Carol was a true example of someone who overcame adversity despite her medical challenges. Carol recently move to Allamuchy with her beloved golden retriever Abbey, to live with her sister Cathy Burd and brother-in-law Brian who survived her along with their children, her nephew Brian Ernest Burd, nieces Amy Burd, Emily Lloyd and her husband Jacob. Carol is also survived by her father Larry Christie and his wife Debbie, her mother Arleen Christie, her brother Bob Christie and his wife Leigh and nephews Jack and Sam, several cousins, aunts, uncles, and her special aunt Dolores Kennedy who provided loving care to Carol in the last days of her life. Carol was predeceased by her brother Larry in 2005. Visitation at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com) on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4:00PM – 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Ledgewood Baptist Church, Ledgewood (973-584-2677) on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10AM. Interment at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.
