All Services Private Ronald W. Powell Mr. Ronald W. Powell, 67, of Randolph passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2009 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown following a long illness. Resident of Randolph for 42 years, moved here from Rockaway. Mr. Powell was born in Elizabeth. He worked as a Teacher for the Randolph Board of Education, Randolph and retired in 1999 after 38 years. Graduated from Montclair State University. During his college years he worked with the New Jersey Symphony. Ron in his dedicated service of 38 years as a Music and Classroom Teacher in the Randolph School System was loved by all his students and fellow teachers alike. He loved the children and had earned the respect of his peers in the school community. During his music career as a teacher, Ron wrote several musical plays that were performed at Shongum School in Randolph. As a husband, father, grandfather and teacher he will be sorely missed. He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 42 years; son Mark Gorman and his wife Aileen of Lake Hopatcong; two daughters Suzanne Frohm and her husband Donald of Canton, OH and Carol Crespo of Stroudsburg, PA. Also survived by five grandchildren; Richard, Stephanie, Allison, Kristin and Michael; two brothers James Powell of Roseland and Lawrence Powell of Georgia and his sister Regina Hivick of Forked River.
