Obituary of Ilene M. St. John

Ilene Marie St. John (nee Stank), 72, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 2, 2014. Ilene was raised in Wharton , NJ before moving to Landing, NJ where she resided for over 40 years. Ilene was a member of the first graduating class of St. Mary’s School, Wharton. She worked for the County of Morris for many years before her retirement as the Clerk of the Board of Chosen Freeholders in 2008. In addition she served on the Roxbury Zoning Board and the Roxbury Board of Adjustment. She was also a long time member of the Lake Hopatcong Regional Planning Board. Ilene spent many happy years enjoying her life with her family and friends on her beloved Lake Hopatcong . Ilene was predeceased by her husband, John in 2013. She is survived by her daughter Debra Altman and her husband Louis Sloane; two stepdaughters Jill Morris and her husband Donald, and Susan Barboe and husband Noel. She is also survived by three additional step children Greg Hoffmann and his wife Lori, Paul Hoffmann and his wife Stephanie, Lisa Hoffmann, and their children. Four grandchildren, Melissa Sloane, Donald J. and Jordan Morris and Nora Barboe. Visitation Friday, November 7, 2014, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, 10:00 AM at St. Therese R.C. Church, 151 Main Street , Succasunna (973-584-8271). Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover .
