Betty J. Shiffrin, 86, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, October 8th, 2014, at Franciscan Oaks, Denville. She was born in Summit, and was a resident of Dover for over 50 years. She was married to Al, her husband of 51 years, who predeceased her in 2001. They owned Shiffrin’s Liquor Store, Dover. She was a Registered Nurse and started her career at Greystone State Hospital before becoming a School Nurse for 23 years at Dover High School. She had a love for sports and enjoyed traveling to Europe to ski and cycle. She was a member of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club for over 50 years. Survived by her loving daughter Lauren Huelsebusch and her husband Juergen of Flemington and her son Jeff Shiffrin and his wife Eileen of CO. Also survived by her four grandchildren Erik, Kristin, Taylor and Mikaela. Predeceased by her sister Lois. Interment to be private, a memorial will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph. The family has requested donations to be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
