Obituary of Donald St. Patrick Myles

Donald St. Patrick Myles, affectionately known as “Kirk” or “Briggie”, quietly left this earth on Friday April 7, 2017 at home. He was born on October 4, 1973 in Kingston Jamaica, to Rhoda and Donald Myles. He attended Alpha Elementary School and Kingston College (KC) in Jamaica, whose motto he lived by on a daily basis. “Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Potest”, which is Latin for “The Brave May Fall But Never Yield”.
Donald migrated to the United States on March 20, 1990. He briefly lived in Randolph before moving to Dover where he spent most of his years. He attended Dover High School and was a major part of reviving the Soccer Team during his years there. He then went on to Kean University, where he studied accounting. Donald held many jobs including Dunn & Bradstreet, and Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Donald loved the Lord and gave his life to Him and was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dover on August 23, 2015. Donald was an active member who worked willingly and diligently for the Lord at the Church’s Food Pantry, attended Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and gave countless volunteer hours in cleaning the Church. The family was so very proud of him and takes comfort in knowing that he gave his life to the Lord.
Donald will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Ivanna, his parents Rhoda and Donald Myles, Grandfather Charles Gordon, his 3 brothers Courtney, Wayne, Ian and wife Nicola, 4 sisters Reverend Jacqueline Myles, Antoinette and husband Douglas, Sharon, Suzette and husband Fabian, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donald was predeceased by his grandmother Evelyn Gordon in Sept. 2016.
Donald’s life celebration will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 61 Richards Ave, Dover on Saturday April 15, 2017. Viewing will be held from10AM-11AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Ivanna Myles c/o Rhoda Myles, PO BOX 65 Dover, NJ 07802-0065. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (tuttlefh.com) .
