Obituary of Kathryn M. Gleason

Kathryn M. Gleason, Registered Nurse over 44 years. Mrs. Kathryn M. Gleason (nee Demarest), age 71, of Mount Arlington, died at home after a brief illness. She was a registered nurse at Chilton Medical Center, Pompton Plains, before retiring in 2009. She was a critical care nurse for several years and later became a certified gastrointestinal nurse by receiving a CGRN in that specialty. Mrs. Gleason was an active member of the Northern NJ Society of G.I. Nurses for 16 years, and the PGH Nurses Alumni. She was born in Hackensack and moved to Fairfield in 1979, then to Mount Arlington in 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Lt. James B. Gleason, Sr., who was the information manager for the Hackensack Fire Department. She was also predeceased by her parents, retired Hackensack Police Chief Westervelt Demarest, and mother Catherine (nee Smith). Mrs. Gleason is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. Gleason of Mt. Arlington, a son, James B. Gleason, Jr., his wife, Denise and granddaughters Kaitlyn Elizabeth and Carly Denise of Long Valley. She is also survived by her brother, John W. Demarest and his wife Michaelynn of Little Ferry, sister Carolyn Dunne and her husband, Ronald of Maywood, sister Jane A. Longinetti and her husband, John J. of Wayne, and brother Charles W. of Belleville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph ( www.tuttltfh.com ), on Monday, June 23 rd , 2014, 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 24 th , 2014, 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at the George Washington Memorial Cemetery, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her memory to the Carol G.
