Obituary of Edmund J. Rumanowski

Edmund J. Rumanowski, 87, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2014, at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville. Edmund was born in Jersey City, and has been a resident of Dover since 1963. He served in the U.S. Army, WW II during the occupation of Japan as a Japanese translator. Edmund attended High School at St. Peter's, Jersey City. He received his BS in Chemistry from Fordham College, NY. He was a Research Chemist for Allied Chemical, Tenneco Chemical, Stauffer Chemical, and retired from AKZO Chemical in 1991, after 34 years in the chemical industry. He had over 20 chemical patents. Edmund was an avid fisherman and gardener. Survived by his wife Wilma of 53 years; four children Theresa Rebagliati, James, Joyce Potten, and Thomas; nine grandchildren Christopher, Brian, Dwight, Desire', and Shaina Jones, Kyle and Jessica Potten, Michael and Ryan Rumanowski and one great-grandson Lucas Jones. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19th, 2014, 3:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com ). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20th, 2014, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
