Obituary of Anne M. Ellis

Anne M. Ellis (nee McGowan), 88, of Madison, NJ, died on June 12, 2104 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Randolph, NJ Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ on Monday, June 16, from 3:00 –5:00 and from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 17, at St. Vincent Martyr Roman Catholic Church, Madison, NJ, followed by interment at St. Vincent Martyr Cemetery. Born on February 22, 1926 in Troy, NY, Anne was the daughter of Frank and Anne McGowan. She was graduated with honors from Sienna College and worked for New York Telephone Company in the Albany, NY office, rising to the level of Assistant Engineer in the Traffic Department. While working at New York Telephone, she met her husband, Richard B. Ellis to whom she was married for 49 years. Anne and her family moved to Madison, NJ in 1962 and she resided there until moving to Sunrise in 2010. Anne was a volunteer in the Central Avenue School reading program for a number of years and was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, who passed away in 2005, her brother, James McGowan and her sisters Mary Lyons and Jane Matey. She is survived by her daughter, Anne W. Ellis (Edward Michinski) of Long Valley, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
