Obituary of Douglas S. Tate

Douglas S. Tate, 68, of Dover, passed away Thursday, May 29th, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown. Douglas was born in Paterson and has been a resident of Dover for over 30 years. He formerly resided in Fairlawn. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Welder-Instructor at HoHokus School of Trade and Technical Sciences in Paterson and retired in 2011. Douglas was an avid fisherman and enjoyed canoeing, camping, hiking and skiing. He also loved the beach at Sandy Hook and loved listening to DooWop and Blues. Survived by his wife Joanne, son Jason and his wife Elena of Lake Hopatcong, step-daughter Barbara Anne Sharp of PA and the family dog McDowell. Donations in his memory are requested to the Eleventh Hour Rescue, PO Box 218, Rockaway, NJ 07866 or The Knee Deep Club, PO Box 404, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849.
