Obituary of Granville Peach

Please share a memory of Granville to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In Memory of GRANVILLE PEACH Granville Peach of Randolph, NJ and The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the company of his loving family. He was 82 years old. Mr. Peach was Owner and President of Peach Brothers, the Kenvil based septic system contracting firm which he founded in 1954 and continues to be operated by his children. Granville is survived by Rosemarie (Ro) Fusco Peach, his loving wife and partner of more than thirty-three years; Granville's five loving children: Linda Durocher (Lou) of Hoptacong, Patricia Kulawiak (John) of Stanhope, Thomas Peach (Valerie) of Mount Olive, Robert Peach (Kelly) of Byram and Tina Wrobel (John) of Succasunna; Ro's three loving children: Victoria Crociata Hurst of Long Valley, Caroline Van Fleet (Matthew) of California and Stephen Crociata of Basking Ridge; and his many cherished grandchildren (21), great grandchildren (4) and nieces and nephews (9). Granville also leaves his beloved sister Edith Austin of Hampton and his older brother Bernard Peach of Long Valley. He was predeceased by his brother Jerome Peach and his former wife, Betty Ann Ellifritz Peach. Born in Maplewood and raised in Morris Plains, he graduated from St. Virgil's Grammar School and Bayley-Ellard High School. In September 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army, fought in the Korean War as a Medic and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargeant. Granville and Ro together were very active and devoted members of Resurrection Parish and then St. Matthew the Apostle Church, both in Randolph. Granville helped construct the Resurrection church, served as a Eucharistic Minister at St Matthew's and led the construction aspects of its Building and Sites Committee. A tireless volunteer, he also traveled to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to help rebuild there and, on several occasions, to Kentucky as part of Hope Builders construction projects. He regularly participated in the January March for Life demonstrations in Washington, DC. He was also a lifelong, year-round tennis player. At age 75, he took up golf and regularly broke 100. But more than anything else, Granville was a strong, kind, generous, loving man with unshakeable integrity and wonderful sense of humor. He was, in many respects, a role model. It would be difficult for anyone who ever met Granville to fail to instantly fall in love with him. Visitation (3 pm to 8 pm on Monday, May 26) and the funeral (10 am on Tuesday, May 27) will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Church at 335 Dover-Chester Road in Randolph (973-584-1101). Interment will follow in Holy Rood Cemetery at 61 Whippany Road in Morristown. All arrangements will be made by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ www.tuttlefh.com Contributions in Granville's memory may be made to Hope House at www.hopehousenj.org and St. Matthew the Apostle Church at www.stmatthewsrandolph.org . Flowers (plantable plants and flower baskets only, please) will be accepted at St. Matthew's after 9 am on Monday.
