Obituary of Elizabeth E. Phelan

Elizabeth Phelan (known to her friend’s as Ann), age 92, passed away on May 14, 2014 under Compassionate Care Hospice at Merry Heart in Succasunna, after a short illness.
Born and raised in New York City, NY, Ann had been a Lincoln Park resident for 45 years where she volunteered in her early years as a Lincoln Park crossing guard. Ann worked part time throughout her years but was primarily a homemaker to her husband and children. She graduated from High School in New York City and always stressed the importance of a good education to her children and grandchildren. In Ann’s later years she moved to Randolph and resided at the Gateway Apartments because she was never ever quite old enough in her mind to live in “Senior Living”. Since 1999, she was a very active member of the Randolph Seniors Group where she volunteered at Randolph Middle School and Municipal offices and enjoyed traveling with the seniors as one of the “Golden Girls”. She loved traveling with her husband and family; old movies; card games with her friends but mostly she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her two daughters, Betty McDonald and husband Jack of Sun City Center, FL and Joan Blondina and husband Bruce of Ledgewood, NJ and her son, Robert (Bob) Phelan of Lake Hopatcong. In addition Ann is survived by her eight grandchildren, John, Karen, Christopher, Bryce, Kyle, Stephanie, Jenna and Tyler as well as eight great grandchildren: Anthony, Brianna, Jamie, Alyssa, Kevin, Haley, Hunter, and Arabella. Ann was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1993 and her son Billy in 2003.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph www.Tuttlefh.com with a memorial service at 11:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elizabeth (Ann) Phelan’s memory to either the Compassionate Care Hospice,400 West Blackwell St., Dover ,NJ 07801 or the Randolph Rescue Squad, 780 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869
