Doris was a lovely lady that always made Marion and myself smile when she came to see us at our office. Doris lived at Mendham Area Senior housing for about 5 good years and she was ever so grateful to find this place. She was so happy to be here in Mendham where she could live near Barbara and see her great grandchildren who lived close by. She was very close to both her daughters and also very proud of who they grew up to be. She delighted in the simple things; getting her hair and nails done, coming over for birthday socials at MASH, and she looked forward to Mendham Senior Transportation because she loved to chit chat with our drivers on the way to Shop Rite. She often saved a piece of pie and a slice of cake for others who could not make it to the Birthday Socials.
My husband and I and Doris went to a local wedding, Doris was gabbing away to my husband saying I bet ypou never heard of the town I lived in: Moonachie. My husband stumped her by saying "I know exactly where that is" and Doris got a big belly laugh out of that. Doris never took happiness for granted, both Marion and I know that she survived hardship and loss but chose to look at the positive and remember the blessings. I admired her for her strong perspective!
God Bless Doris and may peace come to her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren!
