Obituary of Joan L Johansen

On Sunday, September 2, 2018, four years after the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Erling, voyaged to Valhalla, Norwegian heaven, Joan Johansen ended her battle with Parkinson’s and set sail to join him.

Joan 87, passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Center.   Joan was a Supervisor at NY Presbyterian Hospital, and retired in 1992 after 26 years. She is formerly of Manhattan and has resided in Newton since 1978. She was a member of the Branchville Senior Citizens Club of Sussex County and the Red Hat Society.  Joan was an avid gardener and she loved going to Atlantic City and cruising with friends. 

She is survived by her daughters Laura Isabella and her husband Nicholas of Landing, Randi Lovett and her husband Gerald of Rockaway, her son Erling Johansen of Port Murray, seven grandchildren Brendan (Betty), Megan (Jason), Lauren, Nicholas, Sierra, Conor and Kiley, two great grandchildren Leif and Madison, her cousins Anthony and Joseph.

Visitation Friday, 3:00 PM -7:00 PM September 7, 2018 at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).

The funeral service and interment will be private.
