Obituary of Mildred Hilscher
Millie Hilscher 65 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She was born and raised in Teaneck and has resided in Randolph since 2007.
Millie was an advocate for helping people overcome addiction and volunteered as a Peer Coach Specialist. She helped facilitate support groups designed to assist parents who had lost a child to the disease of addiction as well as helping parents who have children struggling with the disease of addiction. She was a loyal,and dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend. Throughout her life and while fighting her year long illness, she embodied courage, tenacity, resilience, faith, dignity, and love. Millie’s desire to overcome her illness was the direct expression of her love for her children and her longing to remain with them.
Millie is survived by three children Michael Dunleavy, Thomas Dunleavy, Erica Poch, her grandchildren Jayda Hammond, Ayden Briner and Mason Briner, her sister Sharon West and her husband Ken, her brother Bert Hilscher, her brother Steven Hilscher, her sister Lorraine Von Rudeneorg and her brother Jeffry Hilscher and his wife Myrna. She is predeceased by her brother T.J. Hilscher and her sister Darlene Gillett.
Visitation Saturday, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM September 1, 2018 at Tuttle Funeral Service 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com) with a Memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM.
