Obituary of Carl J Nilsen

Carl J. Nilsen, 69, of Roxbury Township and Tortola, British Virgin Islands went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. Carl is survived by his wife, Ruth Okello. 

Born February 11, 1949, in Brooklyn, he was the son of Carl G. Nilsen and Ruth Beverly Carson. Carl spent his formative years in Staten Island and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, and went on to pursue an engineering degree at LeTourneau University. After completing college he worked as an engineer and eventually became owner of PRC Corporation in Landing. He helped revolutionize the canning industry through a laser welding technology that is the basis for every can welded in the world today. 

Carl was a former elder at the Randolph Congregational Church, Randolph, and was a supporter of Prison Fellowship International among various other international organizations. 

In addition to his wife and two step-children, David and Sharon Kamara, he is survived by his father Carl G. Nilsen of Lititz, PA, a sister, Beth (David) Bjorkman, Leola, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Beverly Carson.  

Funeral Service on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com). Interment at the Flanders Hillside Cemetery, Succasunna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s honor to Prison Fellowship International.
