Obituary of Myrtle Jacobs
Myrtle G. Jacobs, 90, of Landing, passed away following a long illness on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at her home.
She was born in North Arlington and resided in Mine Hill for over 50 years before becoming a resident of Landing. Myrtle worked as a Church Organist and Choir Director at Mine Hill Presbyterian Church for 45 years. After her retirement she continued to play in the church as she was needed. She was also a Secretary/ Officer of Ja-Bar Silicone Corp., Andover, where in the early years she took care of the bookkeeping.
Myrtle enjoyed playing golf and was on the Ladies League at Panther Valley Golf Club. She rode a motorcycle and took flying lessons. She was on a bowling league and loved knitting and crocheting. Myrtle enjoyed the cruises her and her husband would take together and the time they spend at their winter home in Florida. She was family oriented and had a deep faith.
Myrtle is survived by Gilbert her husband of 70 years; two children Robin Van Dyk and her husband Geary of Stillwater and Randy and his wife Carol of Mine Hill; two grandchildren Tyler Van Dyk and Dana Jacobs; nieces Edwina Webster, Carmen Mills, Sieglinda Jacobs and Elfriedi Fujitani; Cousin Melvin Gillem and family; two cats Donald and Daisy and other loving family members. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law Leonard E. Jacobs.
Visitation Wednesday, June 20, 2018, 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Thursday, June 21, 2018, 10AM at Mine Hill Presbyterian Church, Mine Hill. Entombment to follow at Locust Hill Mausoleum, Dover.
